Wishlist House Gympie Goes on the Market

24 Apr 2025

The house that Gympie built has been finished and put on the market with all the proceeds going to the region’s local hospital charity Wishlist.

The 4-bedroom house in the appropriately named Serenity Street in the town’s Southside is the result of more than 120 locals donating their time, effort and materials, including One Agency Real Estate Group’s Peter and Keryn Angle.

Keryn who is also on the board of Wishlist said it’s been a real community effort.

“Wishlist has done a few of these down the coast, and we thought it was time to get one done in Gympie,” Keryn said.

“I've been brought to tears a few times by the responses of people. We ask, and everyone's like, yep, great cause, would love to help.”

The donations came in all shapes and sizes, everything from the final clean to the grass that surrounds the property.

Craig Nichols from Roberts Turf Supplies said it’s a privilege to be able to contribute to a project that will improve lives.

“I just like helping children's charities and it’s good to know the little bit I contributed is pure profit for Wishlist and will go towards health services and equipment,” Craig said.

The real estate agent for the property Pete Angle said he expects the house will go quickly.

“There’s really high interest,” Peter said. “Everything else that we've had is under contract or has sold recently.”

Gympie Patient Transport Bus

All proceeds from the sale will help Gympie patients and their families, including the Gympie Patient Transport Service, a new and essential transport link for Gympie Hospital patients and carers.

This service connects local patients to specialist care at the Sunshine Coast University Public and Private Hospital, and Nambour Hospital.

Wishlist CEO Brendan Hogan said the service is now underway, which is co-funded by Wishlist and Sunshine Coast Health.

"We’ve commenced this much-needed service to meet the needs of local patients who require access to specialists at Sunshine Coast University Hospital and Nambour Hospital,” Mr Hogan said.

“We’re also creating a Butterfly Suite at Gympie Hospital’s Maternity Unit to provide a compassionate space for women facing the heartbreak of miscarriage, stillbirth, or neonatal loss.

“Proceeds will also go toward treatment chairs for Ambulatory Care at Gympie Hospital, contribute to the region’s first Biplane Unit for critical stroke treatment, and support Wishlist’s three homes away from home that provide comfortable low or no-cost accommodation for Gympie patients needing to be close to a Sunshine Coast hospital.”
