Community rallies Reed House toy drive
When young daughter Sahara needed her tonsils removed, mum Mikayla Salta, husband Dylan, and two daughters found their home away from home for two weeks at Wishlist hospital accommodation – Reed House. Rallying their community, the Salta family collected new and pre-loved toys to bring joy to future young guests at Reed House.

Ks 4 Cancer 2024 a great success
On Sunday, October 20, the shores of Lake Kawana were alive with energy and purpose as over 800 participants laced up their sneakers for the annual Wishlist K’s 4 Cancer event. This year’s turnout was the largest since the event began in 2018, with runners and walkers alike showing incredible support for cancer patients on the Sunshine Coast.

Head and neck cancer study funded by sup...
Thanks to the Sunshine Coast Head and Neck Cancer Support Group fundraiser on July 13th, $10,000 was raised for Wishlist, with $5,000 directed to hospital accommodation and $5,000 directed to the University of the Sunshine Coast Stride-HNC Study - a research project investigating sarcopenia (muscle loss) in head and neck cancer survivors.

The gift of mobility
Caloundra local Doreen Quick’s life changed dramatically earlier this year when she suffered a stroke while in her kitchen. Thanks to generous donations, Wishlist has been able to secure single-arm wheelchairs for the rehab department and the gift of mobility made a world of difference for Doreen.

Aitken Legal has revived its charity golf challenge after eight years to help raise funds for hospital foundation Wishlist. The firm pulled together $61,064 for 92.7 MIX FM’s Give Me 5 appeal via the 4 Ball Ambrose Legal’s Sunshine Coast Corporate Charity Golf Challenge, where 144 golfers broke out their clubs for 18 holes at the Pelican Waters Golf Club.

After 24 years as the face and force of Wishlist, inaugural and long-serving CEO Lisa Rowe has resigned from her role with her-much loved local hospital charity. As part of Wishlist’s strategic and succession planning, Ms Rowe will be handing over the CEO reins to current General Manager Brendan Hogan.

Cancer Council Queensland and Wishlist have teamed up to expand essential support cancer services for local cancer patients on the Sunshine Coast. Cancer Council Queensland’s Wig and Turban service is now available at Wishlist Centre. The service offers a personal fitting with a trained volunteer. There are a range of wigs and headwear to choose from, at no cost.
